MOSCOW, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has blocked Google’s technological domains used by U.S. voice messenger Zello, which is muted in Russia, but the move will cause no trouble for other services, a watchdog spokesperson said on Wednesday.
“After (U.S. e-commerce giant) Amazon had stopped cooperating with Zello, this application had started using technological resources of Google since March 30 (which contain inside content of Google’s own resources and resources for third-party websites). At the moment, 286 IP addresses and 285 domains, belonging to Google and exploited for Zello work are blocked,” the spokesperson said.
The blocking of some of Google’s domains will not affect operations of other services.
Zello is an Internet walky-talky, making possible to instantly send out messages to a person or a group without typing or reading.
The program was blocked by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media in April 2017 after it had failed to duly provide information to be added to the register of organizers of information distribution.
